"Amici di Cosimo" No-Profit Association:

At last it's done! On april 7th, 2009 "Amici di Cosimo" ONLUS is born and we started our activities printing t-shirts with Cosimo's logo that will be soon available online. We already ask, where possible, to share the same order within your friends to make more simple for us to ship the parcels and to turn burocracies easier (one shipping, one invoice). The final aim of the association, beside the fund raising, is to give Cosimo something to do during his stay in the Hospital and, in the future, an activity to follow-up and more likely a job to fill his days. To do so, we decided NOT TO USE the same bank account that you used for fund raising, leaving that ONLY for the needs of Cosimo and his family. Our association will use for its activities and donations the account with IBAN IT08L0552610705000000000215 and SWIFT BLOPIT22.

Italian National Fire Brigade Rugby Team vs France National Fire Brigade Rugby Team:

Like most memorable moments, they just don’t last!
It was fantastic to say the least. Full of surprises, emotion, and fun. Cosimo’s surprise arrival at the stadium, was the bell that made all present understand that it was going to be a very special day! Whilst all around La Spezia the weather was not so good with the help of the Good Lord around the Montagna stadium the weather was just right. Not too hot, no rain, lots of people, lots of help, lots of goodwill, loads of beer and sandwiches… in other words the makings of a great day.
An enormous thanks to all who with their hard work, time, and love for Cosimo made it possible that this special event could be organised at ZERO COST. Thanks

Football match Fezzano - Cadimare (24/XII/2008):

Putting aside for a while the historical rivalry, the friends from Cadimare and Fezzano organized this fund raising derby attended by lot of people coming from all La Spezia's Gulf. Here a small video with Spezia's Rugby wishes to Cosimo and Squatters 99 colours.

At the end of his show "Album d'aprile" held in La Spezia on april, 21st Marco Paolini came on stage with Cosimo's top and spent some minute talking about Cosimo and inviting the city to help us in organizing the match of june, 6th. Do as he did, help us and make others help...we need it!

Malcolm’s Charity Run:

7th May for most of us was a normal day….not for Malcolm and the other runners of the 60 km AVIS Uphill Run: Sarzana (Sea level) to Campo Cecina (1300mt) and back! Thanks to the great enthusiasm shown by the organizers AVIS Sarzana ( province of La Spezia), Malcolm was able to import a concept which is common in other countries, that of the Charity Run. He convinced friends and others to sponsor him for a charity run in this case to help Cosimo! The first objective , raising funds: mission accomplished! €392 raised and donated to Amici di Cosimo and just think that the last €20 were donated in the last few kilometres!!! Let’s not forget the other objective Malcolm made it! He dragged his 50 years and 90kg (weight at start) up and back down the Apennine Alps, finishing with a time of 7 hours and 15 minutes. Red Jackets Sarzana - Dante's friends for Cosimo:

Saturday 13th June was a historical day for American Football in the province of La Spezia.
Red Jackets Sarzana for the first time in their history played in the semi-final of the Italian Championship against Frogs Legnano to gain a place in the XXIXth Italian Superbowl. The venue was the Ferdeghini Sports Stadium, also home grounds of Spezia Rugby Club. All this at exactly 10 years from the passing away of Dante Canini, not only my personal friend but also team mate and battle companion of many who still play in the Red Jackets. If you add to this the contacts between the two teams and the fact that even if there are rivalry for the superiority of one over the other, at the end of the day we all play with a ball that has the right shape, so it was easy to find a common understanding.
The directors of the Sarzana team decided to remember Dante, by inviting our association to the game and donating the entire proceeds raised from the event, which included gate donations and sales of merchandising. It was an incredible evening with the Red Jackets winning 42 to 28 and Dante’s parents presenting the Red Jackest n°20 with the "Premio Combattività Dante Canini" award.
We can say that with this event our association raised 2310 euros and once again we would like to thank all those on and off the field, those who drank a beer, those who ate a sandwich , who bought a tee-shirt, and all those people who even if they did not contribute economically, helped make the Ferdeghini stadium home of an important event. Thank-you!
A warm thank you to all the Sarzana Red Jackets, Giorgio and Betta and obviously Dantino who I am sure, made sure that everything went as smooth as possible!

Amici di Cosimo at Aria Festival (SP):

Once again the streets of La Spezia were filled with art, shows, performances and new forms of expression thanks to Artificio23 (once again the organiser this year of the famous Sestri Levante Andersen Festival) and their creation ARIA Festival. Emerging and established artists from all over the world met between 30th July and 1st August 2009 in the streets of La Spezia, along with a later show in Vernazza 9th August with Paolo Rossi.
Thanks to the personal friendship with the festival organisers, and their incredible generosity, our association had the chance to set up a stand where we could display our activities for Cosimo, here's a picture of Cosimo's visiting Paso, Biagio, Sala and Matte.
